Following our recent designation as a High Performing Secondary School we have been asked by the Specialist Trust to nominate two choices for a second specialism.
After careful consideration we have decided to opt for two areas which have a specific focus on raising achievement by developing innovative teaching and learning practice. These are:
First Choice :- Addressing all learner's needs through innovative teaching and learning in the area of Cognition and Learning. In this area we would hope to develop effective practice in removing barriers to learning for all students.
Second Choice :- Raising standards through a focus on under-performance as a mentor school in the Raising Achievement Transforming Learning programme. Within this programme we would hope to work together with other schools to build strategies that transform learning.
We will receive confirmation of which of our two options has been selected on September 10th 2007.
Whichever option is chosen by the Dfes, we hope to be able to work closely with all our primary feeder and secondary partner schools over the coming months to ensure that the we build on the excellent collaborative practices that are currently in place, which we believe will benefit all local children.
